Taipei during the daytime
Strange rocks at Yiliu
These are called candle rocks
Another fun rock at Yiliu
Yes, you get to walk on the ridge, and the wind seemed gale force. I saw a guy lose his hat. Sad sad sad
"Chessboard" or "Tofu" Rocks
See, I told you it was windy. This is at 1/250th of a second, too. Fun!
Shot o' the coast from on top of the little peak
Ok, I got carried away a bit on the designs in the rocks.
But I really liked them.
They look like little Chinese brush paintings to me.
Cool little statue in an overhang
Trust me, the water is troubled.
Changing of the Guard in Taipei
Don't worry, I got out of the way. I just wished I had gotten them in focus.
Who is that handsome cameraman?
The guards, they are a' changing.
A lovely window in what I believe was the Longshan Temple
The humidity in Taiwan was oppressive. Every time I popped my camera out of the bag, I had to wait for the lens to clear up before I could shoot. This is what happens when I didn't wait long enough. I don't know how the National Geographic guys survive :)
Taipei 101 at night. It's the tallest skyscraper in the world, for the moment anyway. There are a couple places (New York and Dubai, for starters) that are planning to top even this one
This is a shrine in Toroko National Park dedicated to the people who died while building the cross island road.
The waterfall water is white, but the river water is brown because the recent typhoon broke up a lot of soil in the mountains.
Walking along the path through caverns. Inside the caverns the water was pouring down. It's the first time I've had to get outside to get out of the rain.
I love this sign. Not only are you going to fall off the cliff, but the rocks are going to crush you too.
Here's the overlook that we hiked to and the gorgeous waterfall as a reward.
This sign says that we are only supposed to have 10 people on the bridge. We had a wee bit more than that.
The guy on the right is just the best.
The Beatles? No it's the Wynners! I can understand your mistake though :)
